Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the requirements for employing artificial intelligence applications in teaching and learning of mathematics at King Saud University From the perspective of faculty members. The study followed a descriptive survey method. The research population (N = 222) is all faculty members at the Basic Sciences Department, Common First Year and the Mathematics Department, College of Sciences. To that end, a questionnaire including four types of requirements for utilizing artificial intelligence applications; namely technical, human, administrative, and financial was designed, checked for validity and reliability, and applied to a sample of (N = 74) faculty members. The results showed that human requirements ranked first with a mean score of (M = 4.17) indicating high significance; administrative ranked second with a mean score of (M = 4.08) reflecting high significance; financial ranked third with a mean score of (M = 3.94) echoing high significance; and technical requirements ranked last with a mean score of (M = 3.93) representing high significance, too. The research concluded with a set of recommendations and suggestions.
