Abstract

The study aimed to design an educational environment based on a generative artificial intelligence model and reveal its effectiveness in developing programming problem-solving skills among female students of the Department of Computer Science at the undergraduate level. The study followed the experimental approach; quasi experimental design based on two control and experimental groups with pre and post-measurements. The study tools were an achievement test to measure the cognitive aspect related to problem-solving skills, and a note card to measure the performance aspect related to problem-solving skills. The study sample consisted of (31) female students from the Computer Science Department, representing the control group (15) female students and the experimental group (16) female students. The results showed acceptable effectiveness of using an educational environment based on a generative artificial intelligence model in developing the cognitive and performance aspects related to programming problem-solving skills among female students of the Department of Computer Science at the university level. According to these results, the study provides relevant recommendations and proposals
