Abstract

The study aimed to determine the extent to which computer science teachers possess cognitive flexibility skills (spontaneity, adaptability, and perceptual) when using distance learning platforms, from their perspective. It also examined differences in these skills based on gender, academic qualification, years of experience in using the platforms, and the number of training courses. The research employed a descriptive survey method and utilized a cognitive flexibility skills scale consisting of 37 items. The study included all members of the research community in the city of Majmaah, totaling 137 teachers. The results showed that computer science teachers generally possess a high level of cognitive flexibility skills, with no significant differences based on gender and years of experience. However, significant differences were found in favor of those with higher academic qualifications and those who had attended five or more training courses. The study recommended the importance of introducing computer science teachers to these skills, guiding them to use appropriate teaching strategies, providing ongoing training programs, and encouraging teachers to pursue further academic studies to enhance their cognitive flexibility skills
