Abstract

The research aimed to identify the reality of using generative artificial intelligence applications in developing scientific research skills from the point of view of graduate students in the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods at Saudi universities in terms of the degree and obstacles to use. The descriptive survey approach was used; a questionnaire consisting of (46) sub-statements was prepared and applied to a sample consisting of (74) male and female researchers. The results showed a weak degree of use of artificial intelligence applications in developing scientific research skills, in addition to a high degree of obstacles to use. It also became clear that there was no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05 = α) in the average scores of the research sample regarding the reality of using artificial intelligence applications in developing scientific research skills attributed to the variables (gender and postgraduate stage), and then some recommendations and suggestions were presented.
