Abstract

The study aimed to recognize the faculty members’ perceptions of the role of artificial intelligence in developing academic performance at King Saud University and the requirements for employment, and to find out whether there were statistical differences between their responses due to the variable (academic degree and years of experience). A descriptive survey approach was followed, and the study sample was formed. From (169) faculty members at King Saud University, a questionnaire was prepared that consisted of (40) statements distributed over two components. The first is academic performance. It includes (30) statements distributed in three areas of academic performance (teaching, research, and community service), and the second aspect is the requirements for the function of intelligence. Artificial intelligence in developing academic performance included (10) statements. The results of the study revealed that faculty members’ perceptions about the role of artificial intelligence in developing academic performance were (high) in general. As their perceptions of developing research performance were (very high), developing teaching and service performance were (high), and there are requirements of (very high) importance for employing artificial intelligence in developing academic performance at King Saud University.
