The Ability of Self-Accountability to Predict the Organizational Commitment Level of the Heads of Departments in the Jordanian Directorates of Education

The present study aimed to explore the ability of self-accountability to predict the organizational commitment level of the heads of departments in the Jordanian Directorates of Education from their own perspective. The researchers of the present study adopted the descriptive correlative survey-based approach. Data was collected through using two surveys. Those surveys include 53 items. The forms of those surveys were passed to the sample during the academic year (2021/ 2022). The sample consists from 180 academic leaders. The results were found that the extent of practicing the areas of self-accountability is high from the perspective of the heads of departments. It was found that the organizational commitment level is high from the perspective of the heads of departments. It was found that the areas of self-accountability (i.e., time management, work and achievement, and self- management) have the ability to predict the levels of organizational commitment of the heads of departments. The researchers of the present study recommend conducting studies that shed a light on self-accountability with targeting other areas of educational administration.
