Empowering Leadership practices among Government schools principals in the Sultanate of Oman: A Field Study

This study aimed to determine the level of school principals' practice of empowering leadership in Government schools in the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of teachers, and to locate the differences according to the variables of gender, educational stage, and years of experience. To achieve the objectives of the study; The descriptive approach was used in a quantitative research approach, by applying a scale consisting of four dimensions, namely:(enhancement of work feasibility, participation in decision-making, and trust in the performance of workers, and the provision of independence); And that on (308) teachers. The results of the study showed that principals of schools in the Sultanate of Oman practice empowering leadership to a very high degree, through enhancing the feasibility of work, confidence in the performance of workers, providing independence, and participating in decision-making. The results also revealed no statistical differences for the level practice of empowering leadership due to the variables of gender, educational stage, and years of experience. The study came out with a number of recommendations, including disseminating and strengthening school work methods that focus on the participation of teachers in school decision-making, and giving them the appropriate independence to implement and develop their profepractices.
