Keywords:
Grounded theory, professional excellence, Cognitive productivity, Context of excellenceAbstract
The study aimed to explore professional excellence and cognitive productivity among distinguished physicians. A qualitative approach, using constructivist grounded theory, was employed, with intensive individual interviews conducted with six distinguished consultant physicians (three male and three female). The findings described the dynamic context of excellence and cognitive productivity, highlighting three main concepts: the nurturing context during general education stages, the productive context of excellence through four stages (proficiency, expertise, professionalism, and excellence), and the dynamics of excellence, which involve interactions between properties. The study recommends programs that strengthen the professional inclinations of those qualified for medicine and support their excellence. It suggests further research on the factors influencing the continuity of medical excellence
