Academic flexibility and its relation to the level of the academic ambition among the students of the University of Hail

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the academic flexibility and its relation to the level of the academic ambition among the students. To achieve the aims of the study, the descriptive, analytical method was used through the psychological flexibility scale and the academic ambition scale. The sample study consisted of 926 male and female students of the Hail University. The study found a medium degree in the academic flexibility and a high degree in the level of their academic ambition, no differences in the level of the academic flexibility and the academic ambition among the students according to the variables (gender, study level), differences in the level of the academic flexibility and the academic ambition among the students according to the variable of the (type of Faculty), in favor of the humanistic faculties. The study also found a correlational relationship between the dimensions of the academic flexibility and the level of the academic ambition among the students. The study recommends holding awareness courses for the students enrolled at the University of Hail on the importance of the academic flexibility in getting rid of the academic problems and obstacles to enjoy the academic ambition in order to find an amusing academic atmosphere.
