The effect of projects-based learning (PBL) for teaching English language on developing creative writing skills of secondary school students

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of projects-based learning (PBL) for teaching English language on developing creative writing skills of third-grade secondary school students. To achieve this goal the researcher adopted the quasi-experimental method. Therefore, the test was prepared for creative writing skills. The study sample was selected randomly and consisted of (59) students at Taif governorate. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group involving (29) students and a control group involving (30). A pre- and post-test of creative writing skills was carried out for both groups The research findings showed that there were statistically significant differences at level (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group students and control group students in the creative writing skills post- test in favor of the experimental group; and revealed that there were large effect of a proposed strategy based on projects-based learning (PBL) for teaching English language on developing creative writing skills . In the light of the findings some recommendations and suggestions were mentioned.
